KIA ORA

I’m a writer, editor and the publisher of NANSEN Magazine.

The stories I weave bring together migration, community and belonging. I’m committed to story sovereignty, whether that’s me telling my own story or making space for someone else to tell theirs.

I hail from Aotearoa New Zealand where my people are Taranaki, Te Ātiawa, Ngāruahine and Ngāti Pākehā. In his Oscars acceptance speech, Māori filmmaker Taika Waititi reminded the world that Indigenous people are the world’s original storytellers. I’m still looking for a way to add that to my LinkedIn profile.

Currently you can find me in Berlin, playing around with Alt Text as Poetry and nerding out about this one-man, one-copy-per-issue Jewish resistance magazine.

Nau mai, haere mai. Great to have you here.
